PM Advocates Incremental Approach to Reform

Phnom Penh: Cambodia's Prime Minister emphasized the importance of gradual reform during the closing ceremony of the Public Financial Management Reform Program (PFMRP) review meeting. He stressed that this "Learn Gradually, Do Gradually" approach reflects the government's long-term vision for sustainable national development.

The remarks were made during the closing ceremony of the 2023 annual review meeting for the fourth phase of the Public Financial Management Reform Program. The Prime Minister stressed the necessity of a careful and considered approach to the implementation of reforms, underscoring the importance of maintaining stability within the reform framework and throughout society. This strategy is crucial for ensuring that reforms contribute effectively and incrementally to the socio-economic development of the country.

The Prime Minister further explained that adopting a gradual and learning-based approach to reform has always been a guiding principle for the country's leadership. This strategy allows for addressing immediate and critical challenges while simultaneously laying the groundwork for future phases of development. It involves testing and preparing key components necessary for the nation's continued progress.

By embracing this step-by-step approach, Cambodia aims to navigate the complexities of reform with prudence and foresight, ensuring that each phase builds on the success of the previous ones for the sustainable development of the country and its people.
